Anationwide veggie recall has hit Walmart, Trader Joe’s and Target, according to the Food and Drug Administration.The FDA announced Thursday that Mann Packing of Salina, California, has recalled several vegetable products due to possible listeria contamination.The company issued the voluntary recall after one of their sampling products tested positive for listeria.The recalled products were distributed throughout the U. S. and Canada to Walmart, Trader Joe’s and Archer Farms, a brand sold at Target.They all have “best if used by” dates of Oct. 11 to Oct. 20 on the front side of the packaging.See the full list, including UPC codes for all products, at fda. gov. Consumers who have purchased any recalled products are urged not to consume them,¬†throw them out or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.Listeria monocytogenes can cause fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and people with weakened immune systems.Healthy people can suffer fevers and diarrhea. Pregnant women can suffer miscarriages and stillbirths.According to the CDC, symptoms of¬†listeria infection include fever, diarrhea, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, muscle aches and convulsions, and symptoms typically appear within one to four weeks after exposure.No illnesses have been reported in connection with the Mann Packing recall, according to the FDA.
